Position: Coach of youth employment skills in high schoolEmployment locations: Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, Mercer & Burlington County, NJ (you will be assigned to a separate circuit).Salary: $ 43,500/year + benefits + paid trainingSince 1996, Waters & Sims has been a reliable provider of supported employment services throughout Jersey Central. We are committed to creating equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities – and we are looking for sumones that share that passion.SummaryAs a work skills trainer for high school youth, you will work directly with high school students with disabilities, helping them build skills and confidential that they need to successfully move from school to work.You will part with local school districts and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) to provide pre-employment transition services in studios aged 14–21. The goal is to help students discover their strengths, explore their careers and prepare for competitive, integrated employment.5 Key Areas:

• Work exploration counseling – help students explore career interests and options.
• Instructions for post-secondary counseling for education counseling and post-school training opportunities.
• Job -based learning coordinates and paid or paid work experiences.
• Workplace readiness training – build social skills, communication and independent living skills.
• Self-protection guidance-teaches students how to speak for themselves and their goals.

Essential tasks and responsibilities:

• Work one-in-one or in small groups (personally and practically) with high school students.
• Travel throughout the designated circuit using your vehicle.
• Adjust and teach allied lessons with pre-ETS goals and the top five areas above.
• Cooperate with school staff, DVRS advisers and community partners.
• Develop learning oporenite based on local employers.
• Save detailed reports of documentation and progress.
• Be a positive witness, motivating students to prepare for the workforce.

Qualifications Required:

• Must live in or near one of the counties listed above and be ready to travel within this circuit (reimbursed mileage).
• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, special education, social work or a related (required) field.
• Experience in working or working with students with disabilities is a plus.
